Amendment 1

The Robertson County Republican Party Executive Committee, after due consideration and debate, wishes to makes The Party’s position known with regard to certain issues facing our nation, state, and local governments, and further wishes to commit its positions in writing and by resolution. In so doing The Robertson County Republican Party Executive Committee states the following:

WHEREAS, Amendment 1 to the Tennessee State Constitution is on the ballot in November, 2014, and the amendment states as follows:

Nothing in this Constitution secures or protects a right to abortion or requires the funding of an abortion. The people retain the right through their elected state representatives and state senators to enact, amend, or repeal statutes regarding abortion, including circumstances of pregnancy resulting from rape or incest or when necessary to save the life of the mother.

 

WHEREAS, the Executive Committee of the Robertson County Republican Party believes it in the best interests of the citizens of Tennessee that Amendment 1 pass and the Constitution be amended accordingly.

 Amendment 1

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE REPUBLICAN PARTY THAT:

 

1.)        In the name of the value of human life at any stage, and the plight and vulnerability of some mothers throughout the State of Tennessee, Amendment 1 should pass by a majority vote of the citizens of Tennessee.  

2.)     The Robertson County, Tennessee Republican Party Executive Committee encourages all persons to actively vote for and work toward the passage of Amendment 1 to the Tennessee Constitution in the November, 2014, election.

Amendment 3

THE ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE REPUBLICAN PARTY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The Robertson County Republican Party Executive Committee, after due consideration and debate, wishes to makes The Party’s position known with regard to certain issues facing our nation, state, and local governments, and further wishes to commit its positions in writing and by resolution. In so doing The Robertson County Republican Party Executive Committee states the following:

WHEREAS, Amendment 3 to the Tennessee state Constitution is on the ballot in November, 2014, and the amendment states as follows:

Notwithstanding the authority to tax privileges or any other authority set forth in this Constitution, the Legislature shall not levy, authorize or otherwise permit any state or local tax upon payroll or earned personal income or any state or local tax measured by payroll or earned personal income; however, nothing contained herein shall be construed as prohibiting any tax in effect on January 1, 2011, or adjustment of the rate of such tax.

WHEREAS, the Executive Committee of the Robertson County Republican Party believes it in the best interests of the citizens of Tennessee that Amendment 3 pass and the Constitution be amended accordingly, thereby negating the possibility of any tax on earned income.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE REPUBLICAN PARTY THAT:

1.)  Proposed Amendment 3 to the Tennessee State Constitution providing for a constitutional amendment prohibiting a tax on earned income is in the best interest of the citizens of Tennessee.

2.)  The Robertson County Republican Party Executive Committee encourages all persons to actively vote for and work toward the passage of Amendment 3 to the Tennessee Constitution in the November, 2014, election.

Amendment 4

THE ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE REPUBLICAN PARTY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The Robertson County Republican Party Executive Committee, after due consideration and debate, wishes to makes The Party’s position known with regard to certain issues facing our nation, state, and local governments, and further wishes to commit its positions in writing and by resolution. In so doing The Robertson County Republican Party Executive Committee states the following:

WHEREAS, Amendment 4 to the Tennessee state Constitution is on the ballot in November, 2014, and the amendment states as follows:

All other forms of lottery not authorized herein are expressly prohibited unless authorized by a two-thirds vote of all members elected to each house of the general assembly for an annual event operated for the benefit of a 501(c)(3) or a 501(c)(19) organization, as defined by the 2000 United States Tax Code, located in this state.

WHEREAS, the Executive Committee of the Robertson County Republican Party believes it in the best interests of the citizens of Tennessee that Amendment 4 pass and the Constitution of Tennessee be amended accordingly, thereby allowing for lotteries  for 501(c)(19) organizations as well as 501(c)(3) organizations.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE ROBERTSON COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY THAT:

1.)  Proposed Amendment 4 to the Tennessee State Constitution allowing for lotteries for 501(c)(19) organizations as well as 501(c)(3) organizations is in the best interest of the citizens of Tennessee.
